In addition to this he established and now chairs an industry forum for UK manufacturers of pressure vessels named PVMF. Henry is also Managing Director of textiles company Price Shepshed Ltd. In 2018 Henry became Non-Executive Director for Clean Power Hydrogen Ltd.

    I was born in Newark and spent most of my early and teenage years in Newark and Southwell.  After attending university, I spent 22 years living and working in London.  I moved back to the area several years ago, representing the community as an elected Parish and District Councillor. An active member of the community, I have helped introduce campaigns such as the ‘Report It’ campaign and ‘Safer Cleaner Greener’ and have been involved in the new Community Café due to reopen on Coronation Street playing fields.

    I am passionate about the local environment and the services on offer to our residents, one particular area of passion is supporting the elderly, specifically those with dementia and Alzheimer’s and regularly spend time visiting with residents of the care home in Balderton.

    Alan Leather - Enterprise Manager

    Alan is the East Midlands Enterprise Manager for the Canal & River Trust.  His role is to develop and instigate projects that help improve the waterways for a range of users.  Alan is an APM qualified Project Manager and led on a range of schemes from the development of a new cycle centre to the creation of new woodlands, play areas, skate parks and range of other access and recreation projects.

    In his spare time, if he is not riding a bike, you’ll find him walking his dogs, fighting weeds in the allotment or he may have escaped on a canal boat holiday.

    Matt is probably best known as being one half of the Matt & Vicky Breakfast Show on Radio Newark. Having been a voice that listeners woke up too for over five years, many people will know that Matt is passionate about what goes on in his hometown. 

    Matt has a huge love for all things local, which inspired him to cocreate the station’s “Love Where You Live” campaign for 2019. The campaign encouraged people to take pride in what’s on your doorstep, be positive about the area on social media, shop locally supporting local independent businesses and to celebrate those who live here through the station’s first ever Community Awards.

    Having started my first company as a mobile DJ at the age of 17, I have always had an enthusiasm for developing businesses and innovating in different sectors. I bought my first fully electric car 20 years ago and our Gusto Homes business has led the way in developing sustainable communities and low energy housing for over 20 years. Our Rototek rotational moulding company is now the world’s largest manufacturer of sailing dinghies employing over 120 staff and innovating across a wide range of products. Alongside building innovative companies within Gusto Group, I have a passion re-investing profits back into start-up companies and social enterprises, especially those focused on innovative ways of tackling the climate crisis. I spent 10 years as a director and Chairman of Lincoln City FC where we put in place a sustainable business model whilst trying to gain a promotion.

    Ian attended Magnus Grammar school and has been in Manufacturing for 40 years and a Director of Hoval Ltd for 15 years. He is a grantee of the Royal Warrant to Her Majesty the Queen for boilermaker and engineer.
    Ian has also been associated with Fiskerton FC for 30 years as a player, manager and chairman. He was also Chairman of the Trent Autograss racing club based in Newark.
    Ian has done quite a lot of coaching to local schools for those students who are about to leave school and move into work or further education.

    Jackie Insley has been the Chief Officer of Citizens Advice Sherwood and Newark for 24 Years. She has experience in all business sectors and prior to joining the Citizens Advice Service, trained as a Money Advice Caseworker with the charity, Small Traders Advice Centre. Jackie’s working life started at the Halifax where she worked for 3 years before moving to Newark & Sherwood District Council’s Housing Benefits Department.  Through the work contributions she makes around equality, social inclusion,  research and campaigns, Jackie  is driven by change to improve and empower people's lives...Realising early on in her career, her voice could make the most difference in the diverse voluntary sector. Jackie has a long history of partnership working, managing contracts that include Money and Pensions  Service and Legal Services Commission contracts.
