Chance to Celebrate Coronation with Cake Decorating Class

Posted on: Tuesday, April 11, 2023

The Coronation weekend is quickly approaching and celebrations won’t be complete without some cake. Luckily, a fantastic Coronation Themed Cake Decorating Class is coming to Newark on Friday 5 May, just in time for the festivities.

Expert cake decorator Alison McNevin from The Cake Decorating Academy will lead the class, helping attendees to create four stunning small cake toppers which will adorn a set of tasty cupcakes for participants to take home.

Taking place at Newark Town Hall from 2pm to 4pm, the session will see Alison teach sugar craft modelling as well as other cake decoration techniques. The two different designs which everyone will have the chance to make include a crown and a flag and the class is suitable for beginners over 18.

Spaces are just £6 and very limited so advance booking is required. To do so (or for allergy information or queries), email arts@newark-sherwooddc.gov.uk or leave a voicemail on 01636 655352 and somebody will be back in touch to confirm availability. All equipment, cupcakes and icing is included.

Alison McNevin is one of The Cake Academy’s senior qualified tutors, with prices for this class often starting at around £44. This special event has been organised by Newark and Sherwood District Council and The Cake Decorating Academy with support from the Cultural Heart of Newark project.

The venue is located on the first floor with lift access and attendees are asked to arrive 10 minutes early, bringing their £6 payment in the correct change as card payments will not be available.
