District Council conduct review of housing register and request all applicants to reply to letters
Posted on: Tuesday, October 10, 2023Newark and Sherwood District Council is asking all applicants currently on the housing register, to respond to individual letters it has issued.
The letters, issued during September and October, were posted to each applicant, and include a form which must be completed. These forms ensure the housing register remains up to date and that housing goes to the most in need.
Applicants should complete a digital or paper version of the form, the paper version was included in with the letters and it can be returned to Castle House. Alternatively, applicants can renew their housing register application online here.
If applicants do not complete the form, it will be presumed they are no longer seeking housing with the District Council and their application will be cancelled, this would mean that they will no longer be registered for housing.
Applicants will have 4 weeks from the date on their letter to return their forms.
Councillor Lee Brazier, Portfolio Holder for Housing at Newark and Sherwood District Council, said: “Every applicant who is currently registered on our housing list must complete the form sent out to them. You can complete it online or return the form on the back of the letter you will receive through the post. This must be done to make sure you remain on our register.
“We are currently reviewing our housing register to make sure that this accurately reflects the needs and requirements of our applicants”.
