Residents Invited For Retro Revelry At Sing-AlongPosted on: Wednesday, June 15, 2022
The whole district is being invited to time travel back 70 years this month at a fun musical event. The 1950s District-Wide Sing-Along will be taking place at Newark Town Hall on Thursday 30th June from 2pm to 3.30pm.
Streamed live to audiences in care homes and other venues throughout Newark and Sherwood, members of the public are welcome to join the live audience as singer Jayne Darling leads a vintage sing-along to hits from the 50s, the decade of the Queen’s coronation.
Jayne will be performing old favourites everyone can join in with and will be staying for a quick chat after her performance too.
The event has been organised by the Arts Development team at Newark and Sherwood District Council with the help of Newark Town Council who have kindly offered use of the venue.
Entry is free with tea and coffee provided after the sing-along. Audience members should be aware that the event will be filmed and that if they do not wish to be on camera they should let a member of staff know. Spaces are limited and free places should be booked by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org. For more information, call Arts Development on 01636 655352.
