Charges for planning information

We provide a number of services in addition to dealing with planning applications. Contact us to request any of these.

A fee is charged where applicable and is based on a cost recovery basis. The fees and charges document sets out the fees, including for pre-application advice, planning development, planning policy, land charges, street naming and numbering and for copies of documents.

You can pay online using our payment service. The service is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

Application fee increases in England

Changes to planning application fees across England take effect from 1 April 2025. These changes are from the National Planning Policy Framework consultation held during 2024, which proposed updates to planning application fees nationwide.

There are two main areas of change, and a couple of ‘corrections’ based on identified issues with the previous December 2023 amendments. There are no changes to current fee exemptions planned. Full details are shown in the legislation.
