Newark and Sherwood businesses invited to sign up to ‘shop local’ gift card

Set to launch in March 2025 the Newark and Sherwood Gift Card is designed to encourage people to shop local and support our town centres. Both national and independent businesses of any size will easily be able to accept the card with no additional equipment or cost required.

Community artwork goes up at 32 Stodman Street

A piece of artwork that features more than 160 drawings from Newark residents has gone up as part of the construction wall around 32 Stodman Street in the town centre.

Due to the ongoing severe weather forecast, Newark and Sherwood District Council has activated the Severe Weather Emergency Protocol (SWEP) for tonight (Wednesday 5 February). We are continuously monitoring and assessing the weather conditions on a daily basis.

New accessible changing facility opens at the Dukeries Leisure Centre

A new self-contained toilet, changing and showering facility is now open at the Dukeries Leisure Centre. Funded by Newark and Sherwood District Council the facility will mean customers using the leisure centre who require accessible amenities will now be able to change safely and comfortably.
