Fly-tipping is a significant issue across the country but in figures released this year, Newark and Sherwood District Council has been ranked highly for the efficient way in which their officers respond to incidents and deal with offenders.

Thanks to the support from Newark and Sherwood District Council, businesses throughout the district are making big developments expanding their commercial ventures. They've gained access to vital grant funding opportunities via the UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF) and Rural England Prosperity Fund (REPF), giving them the boost they need to grow and thrive.

Newark and Sherwood District Council has granted £150k from the UK Shared Prosperity Fund into Newark College, creating a programme designed to elevate the skills of the local workforce. This initiative aims to bolster organisational growth and foster development among employers throughout the district.

Newark and Sherwood is Alive with Music.

Newark and Sherwood District Council wants to celebrate and promote the benefits of music to the community and is asking local people to get involved and share their passion and ideas.

On Tuesday 1 October, the District Council will be hosting its second ‘Alive With Music’ meeting to discuss this and would love to include as many people who are involved with music in the district as possible.  The event starts at 6pm and will conclude at 8pm.

Enjoy the spectacle as the Lloyds Bank Tour of Britain returns to Newark and Sherwood.

As welcoming crowds are expected to line the route of stage 4 of the Lloyds Bank Tour of Britain Men’s Race Newark and Sherwood District Council has issued advance warning of possible traffic delays through the district.

Spectators are welcome to come and see stage 4 of the race, which is due to arrive in Blidworth at around 12:25pm. The race will then continue through the district until it arrives at Sconce and Devon Park in Newark at around 2:15pm.

Survey now open on proposed plans for future of Kiddey Stones

Robert Kiddey was a sculptor, artist and teacher, born in Nottingham in 1900. His work is visible across Nottinghamshire, including on the Nottingham’s Council House and County Hall. Many of his works depict the working people of Nottinghamshire, including coalminers, metalworkers and agricultural labourers.
