Medical waste
We provide a medical waste collection service, collecting both infectious health care waste and sharps boxes.
You can request a medical waste collection by completing our online form, calling us or through our resident portal 'MyNS' which will also allow you to track the request. You’ll need to provide the name and address of the patient and the contact details of their GP or district nurse.
A form will be sent to the patient's medical professional via Nottinghamshire County Council to confirm that the waste is infectious. Once we have this confirmation we’ll supply bags and stickers and advise on the date of the collection.
Collections
Weekly collections take place on Tuesdays and Wednesdays and are ongoing until you notify us.
Occasional collections will mostly be for sharps boxes.
Disposing of non-infectious waste
Health care waste which is not infectious should be wrapped in a plastic bag and placed in your green household waste bin.
If you have a problem storing this additional waste or wish to arrange a collection, please contact us.
