Tenants, have your say!

Posted on: Thursday, June 27, 2024

District Council tenants are being encouraged to complete a short survey to have their say and be in with a chance to win one of four £50 shopping vouchers! The survey asks how the District Council can make it easier for tenants to influence decisions relating to housing services as part of a review into tenant engagement arrangements at the Council.

The survey should take 10 minutes to complete and only has 11 questions. The survey can be accessed here: https://www.smartsurvey.co.uk/s/2A2YP7/ . If you need help completing the survey, the District Council’s customer services team are on hand to help – just contact them by ringing 01636 650 000.

Results from the survey will help inform the District Council what is needed to ensure tenants are engaging in ways they would like to and choosing how they can have a say on the services they receive.

They survey closes on 31 July 2024 and all information gathered will be used to inform the ongoing tenant engagement review.

Suzanne Shead, Director of Housing, Health and Wellbeing at Newark and Sherwood District Council, said: “Our involved tenants are central in helping us improve and develop services which benefit all tenants across the district; and your feedback is incredibly useful. We want to make it as easy and convenient as possible to have your say, whether that is through one of our regular local meetings such as the Community Link Groups, at one of our tenant engagement events or through things such as Void Property Inspections. Your insight into what is working and what could do with improving is fundamental to the way we run our services and we want to remove the barriers to getting involved.

“Therefore, we want to make sure our tenant engagement programme is tailored and useful for you, our tenants. We want to know that the activities we are doing are giving tenants enough opportunity to have a strong voice that influences the services they receive from us. This short survey will give us insight into how tenants would like to help us make decisions on how we ensure everyone’s home is decent, safe and secure with good housing services to support you when needed.

“I really encourage any tenants complete the survey in order to help us help you. We are also running a prize draw for four £50 shopping vouchers – don’t miss out!”
