Posted on: Tuesday, December 17, 2024Councillor Paul Peacock, Leader of Newark and Sherwood District Council, said: “Today I would like to announce a change to my Cabinet. Councillor Emma Oldham will be standing down from her position as Portfolio Holder for Climate and the Environment. I would like to thank Councillor Emma Oldham for her work as a Portfolio Holder.
“I would like to welcome Councillor Simon Forde who will take over from Councillor Oldham and will sit on our Cabinet effective immediately. I look forward to working with him.
“I’m aware that the three Liberal Democrat Councillors and the two Green Party Councillors have withdrawn their support, and I would just like to reassure residents that the process through which decisions are made will not change.”
Councillor Simon Forde said, “I am delighted to be joining the Cabinet. I recognise the importance this role plays in residents’ lives, and I will continue to work on behalf of everyone across the district.
“I am impressed with the work the Council does in making sure our core statutory services are as brilliant and effective as they can be and look forward to working collaboratively with colleagues.”
