District Council grant scheme is supporting the younger generation
Newark and Sherwood District Council’s Community Grant Scheme has been able to support a wide range of programmes and projects across the district including the Newark Amateur Boxing Club (NABC) who are able to provide boxing sessions to young people at risk of exclusion and/or anti-social behaviour. The sessions will help young people channel their energy into something positive and healthy whilst teaching them about self-discipline, confidence and work ethic.
District Council Reaches Out To Gen Z With Tongue-in-Cheek Recycling Video
This Recycle Week, Newark and Sherwood District Council has set its sights on communicating the importance of recycling to young people in the Gen Z demographic. Taking advantage of the ‘Gen Z writes the script’ social media trend, they have produced a short video starring officers from across their waste and recycling teams, using slang associated with Gen Z to talk about how, what and why to recycle.
Groups can apply up to £1,000 of funding with the Community Chest scheme
Community groups, tenants and leaseholders can now apply for up to £1,000 through the District Council’s 2024 – 2025 Community Chest scheme. The scheme helps to support and fund local projects.
Work continues to improve resident’s health and wellbeing
Alongside their partner organisations, Newark and Sherwood District Council continue to make their resident’s health a priority by continuing their important work to address health inequalities and improve health and wellbeing across the area.
