Newark and Sherwood District Council has teamed up with award-winning meal planning platform FiveDinners.com, founded by TV chef and author Theo Michaels, to support local families by giving away FREE premium membership to the platform (usually £86 per year).

The initiative will give everyone who lives and works across Newark and Sherwood fully personalised meal plans - including low-calorie, family-friendly, affordable, menopause-friendly and so much more - with a complete shopping list every week to save time, money, reduce food waste, and never go through the pain of deciding what to eat every night.

“As a father of three and working fulltime I know how hard it can be for many families and individuals to figure out what to cook every night – it is a faff!” said Theo Michaels, founder of FiveDinners.

“By working with Newark and Sherwood District Council, we’re making it easier for families to enjoy delicious, affordable, home-cooked meals together while helping them save money and cut food waste. And because the plans are personalised, users set their preferences; number of people they are feeding, allergies, etc. and get a brand-new personalised meal plan with a complete shopping list every week”

Those who sign up will join over 40,000 other members who get instant access to a wide variety of tried-and-tested meal plans designed for every lifestyle; be it quick and easy, affordable, menopause focussed and more. Each week, members receive a personalised meal plan with a complete shopping list with step-by-step instructions for total novices in the kitchen to the Masterchefs out there.

Councillor Susan Crosby, Portfolio Holder for Health, Wellbeing and Leisure at Newark and Sherwood District Council, said: “We’re delighted to partner with FiveDinners to provide this resource to our community. It’s a practical, positive way to support healthier lifestyles, reduce the stress of meal planning, and help households manage costs during challenging times.

“We know that for many people, one of the biggest day-to-day pressures comes at the end of a busy day: deciding what to cook, making sure it’s affordable, and trying to keep it healthy. Between work, family commitments and everything else life throws at us, it’s no surprise that dinnertime can become a source of stress rather than enjoyment. With FiveDinners, all the planning is sorted for you!

“It’s free to sign-up so there’s no reason for residents not to give it a try. See how it can help you and your family by signing up today.”
