Residents encouraged to sign up to quick and secure Council Tax e-billing.
Posted on: Monday, February 2, 2026Newark and Sherwood District Council is encouraging more residents to make the switch to Council Tax e-billing ahead of this year’s annual billing period, highlighting the convenience, reliability and environmental benefits of receiving bills electronically.
At present, around 10,000 households in the district are already signed up to e-billing. With Council Tax bills due to be issued in the coming months, the District Council is ensuring more residents benefit from the faster and more sustainable way to view their bill.
E-billing enables residents to view their Council Tax bill digitally as soon as it’s produced. This reduces the risk of documents being misplaced or delayed in the post and gives residents digital access to their information whenever they need it. By choosing e‑billing, residents help cut down on unnecessary paper and postal deliveries, contributing to a greener environment and a more sustainable district.
Residents can sign up in less than a minute using a valid email address, here: https://app.newark-sherwooddc.gov.uk/OPENPortal/opweb/web/common/login.p.
Once registered, all future bills will be available to view online.
Councillor Paul Peacock, Leader of Newark and Sherwood District Council, said: “Moving to e‑billing is an easy way for residents to manage their Council Tax more efficiently. It ensures bills instantly available, reduces the risk of delays, and is more environmentally friendly. It’s a small step that delivers real benefits for everyone. I recommend anyone who hasn’t signed up yet, have a look to doing so – it’s quick to set up and easy to use!”
