Professor Edvard von Goosechaser (Adam Nightingale) invites you on this historical comedy adventure at the National Civil War Centre, where you’ll will learn about “mad” seventeenth century science and invention.
Running from 7pm to 8.30pm on Friday 7 November, the show combines real history and live performance to entertain and educate. Discover which inventor built the first ever lighthouse on a rock, in the middle of a war with France and during the worst storm in England history. And hear about how an amateur herbalist challenged the might of the medical establishment and almost got himself arrested for witchcraft. But which one of them had and amazing girlfriend, and why on earth did she explode? Join the Professor to find out!
And if that’s not enough, there will be interactive entertainment courtesy of Goosechaser and his mysterious musical companion Marco the Mute Musician in the form of Bed Wed Behead, every 17th Century person’s favourite dating game. Taking place in the museum’s Tudor Hall, this show offers something just that bit different to entertain you and your family on a Friday night in November!
