Newark and Sherwood District Council are committed to growing the local economy and supporting businesses to create more jobs, boost skills and achieve prosperity.

Following feedback from partners and local businesses the Council are partnering with a variety of providers to offer 3 distinct events during September for business based in Newark and Sherwood on the topics in finance, entrepreneurship, and growth.

Councillor Claire Penny, Portfolio Holder for Sustainable Economic Development at Newark and Sherwood District Council, says: "We offer a wide range of support events businesses can take advantage of, and I am really excited we can include these three events this September to help our business community.

"The sessions are designed to provide invaluable insights and practical advice to help our business community thrive. I encourage all business owners to take advantage of these opportunities, whether it’s understanding business finance, networking with fellow business owners or receiving tailored advice from experts.”

Those looking to understand the complexities of business finance are invited to a unique support session, ‘Accessing Business Finance: Meet the Experts’, on Wednesday 4 September, from 9am to 12pm at Hexgreave Hall, Farnsfield, Nottinghamshire. The session will feature insights from the British Business Bank, NBV Enterprise Solutions and Funding Round, offering attendees with an overview of the various finance options available for their businesses. The event will include informative presentations and a Q&A session, followed by drop-in sessions where attendees can receive tailored one-to-one support from advisers from both organisations.

Businesses who are interested can sign up by contacting the Economic Growth team on economic.growth@newark-sherwooddc.gov.uk or call the team on 01636 655260.
