Bulky waste
Upgraded your sofa? Need to dispose of that broken fridge? Had a garden tidy?
Many large items of household waste and electrical items are accepted at our recycling centres or, for a small fee, we can collect items from your home using our bulky waste collection service.
The electrical items we collect are sent for recycling where they’re broken down. These products all contain valuable components that can be reused and/or recycled so please keep them out of the general waste bin.

You can also book a collection using our resident portal ‘My NS’ and track the status of the request.
We collect electrical and white goods in a different vehicle from bulky waste. If you have a mix of items, you’ll need to make separate bookings.
We collect upholstered/domestic seating items separately to bulky waste. If you have a mix of items, you’ll need to make separate bookings so please ensure that upholstered/domestic seating items are presented separately from other bulky items and there is a clear gap between them.
If you have more than 6 items for collection please call 01636 650000 to arrange a quote.
Recycling furniture and appliances
Reuse is always better if possible, so before you book a collection please consider selling, or gifting your item. There are a number of charities and organisations who might be interested in your second-hand furniture and electrical appliances, if they‘re in good, working condition.
These include:
- the British Heart Foundation accepts donations of furniture - call 0844 499 4152 for more information
- Betel UK will collect donations of furniture and white goods for sale in their charity shops
- Freecycle is an online swap shop - it gives furniture a second lease of life, as well as helping you to find free items
- the furniture project in Ollerton is always in need of quality usable items.
