Three events aimed at encouraging residents to support their independent businesses this Christmas are taking place across Newark and Sherwood during November and December.

These events, organised by local shopping groups, encourage customers to support their local community by shopping independently this festive season. Events include those held in specific town centres as well as national initiatives.

Southwell Christmas Late Night Shopping Event – Thursday 25 November

Organised by Shop Southwell retailers, the Southwell Christmas Late Night Shopping event is considered one of the festive highlights of the town’s events calendar. Until 8 pm on Thursday 25 November, Southwell’s independent shops and Christmas market will be open to allow more time to browse for those unique Christmas presents.

Southwell’s independent shops offer a wide range of gifts to choose from, including clothes, home wear, jewellery, crafts, wine and edible delicacies. There will also be carol singing to enjoy from Lowes Wong and Holy Trinity school children in the Admiral Rodney Courtyard, an advent shop window trail and festive food and drink.
