Testing for COVID-19
Regular asymptomatic testing using a Lateral Flow Test (LFT) should be part of our regular weekly routine. It is recommended that you get 2 tests per week. These tests are quick and simple to use and give you a result in 30 minutes.
If you test positive using a Lateral Flow Test or if you have any symptoms of COVID-19 you should take a Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) test. These tests are sent to a lab, so it takes longer to gain a result. The results are more accurate than an LFT and can be used by anyone who already has symptoms or to confirm an LFT positive result. As PCR tests are carried out in a laboratory, the strain of virus can also be identified which can help prevent the spread of variants such as the Delta variant.
