32 Stodman Street moves closer to completion

Work on transforming the former M&S building at 32 Stodman Street is making great progress with a completion date on the horizon in 2026. As one of the flagship initiatives led by Newark and Sherwood District Council and the Newark Town Board, this project is set to revitalise the town centre. Backed by the UK Government’s ‘Local Regeneration Fund,’ the scheme is making real headway.

£267,000 awarded to rural projects in Newark and Sherwood

Rural businesses and community organisations across Newark and Sherwood have received a share of more than £267,000 through the latest round of a locally developed rural grant scheme.

Council sets sets ambitious and resident focused budget for 2026–2027

On Tuesday 24 February 2026, Newark and Sherwood District Council’s Cabinet will debate and seek Cabinet approval on its draft budget for 2026/27. The Council’s proposed budget is an ambitious, forward‑looking financial plan that protects vital local services, invests in communities, and maintains strong financial resilience during a period of national change with Local Government Reorganisation.
