Welcome to Sherwood Forest Art and Craft Centre

Sherwood Forest Art and Craft Centre and Cafe lies in the beautifully converted coach house and stables of the former Edwinstowe Hall. It is just a short walk from the famous Major Oak and Sherwood Forest Visitor Centre.

The atrium and courtyard house a variety of artists and craftspeople. Visitors can buy original and unique gifts directly from the craftspeople.

There are also a variety of unusual crafts including textiles, turned glass, fossils and gemstones, card- making supplies, coppersmith, candles, handmade soap and jewellery.

Special Events

Throughout the year there are a variety of special events to make your visit even more memorable, including themed weekends and family activities.

Kids Autumn Crafts at Sherwood Forest Arts and Craft Centre, Edwinstowe

For October half term kids crafts are on Wed 25 October 10.30am to 3pm

Enjoy seasonal painting, jewellery, sewing, making bath bombs, paper crafts and more.
There is a small charge for the activities. Café available for snacks and drinks

Adult workshops and classes including jewellery making and felting are also available all year round.

Christmas weekend on Saturday and Sunday 25th and 26th November

Father Christmas will be on hand to meet and greet all visitors (10am to 3.45pm) and there will seasonal music from the Sherwood Forest Brass Band and carol singing.

The craft studios will have a festive feel with selections of unique and hand-crafted gifts if you are looking for that perfect present. Hot chocolate and a mince pie followed by a invigorating walk in the woods anyone?

Craft studios

There are eleven studios enclosed by a glass foyer ensuring that your visit is unspoilt by the weather. In the courtyard outside there are five more studios with a small picnic area nearby.

The centre is a working art and craft centre with an extensive variety of arts and crafts where you can see craft workers putting the finishing touches to original gifts and products.

Three Little Daisies

Gifts from new and vintage fabrics, painted furniture and sewing tuition.  

A.L Jewellery

Silver and gold contemporary fine jewellery, hand made at the centre. Classes available.

Grannies Candles

Unique hand painted candles, laser cut clocks, engraved wooden pendants.

Stone Treasures

Natural works of art, fossils and gemstones jewellery.

The Tinkering Faeries

Handmade wet and dry felting, woollen products including faeries, scarves, pumpkins and much, much more.

Serving clotted cream teas, illy coffee, with quiet lounge and free wi-fi internet access. A variety of meals and snack available.

Family friendly and accessible

The craft centre’s studios are accessible to everyone including wheel chair users and prams and pushchairs are also welcome. There are also baby-changing facilities.

Groups are welcome, either with or without prior notice. Car parking is free at the centre and additional public car parks are available nearby (charges may apply). Best of all, admission is completely free.

Demonstrations and exhibitions

Groups regularly join us in the atrium of the craft centre to give visitors a chance to see their craft demonstrations and exhibitions. 

The Wooly Outlaws

The Wooly Outlaws meet in the atrium of the craft centre on the first Sunday of every month at 11am. Newcomers and visitors are most welcome.

The Wood Carvers

The Wood Carvers join us on the first Saturday of every month. Come along and see their displays as well as watching them carve.  

Opening times

Sherwood Forest Art and Craft Centre is in Edwinstowe next to the Youth Hostel just off the A614 and is just a few minutes walk from the Sherwood Forest Visitor Centre

Summer (1 April to 30 September) 
10am to 5pm Tuesday to Sunday (some studios may be open Mondays).

Winter (1 October to 31 March) 
10am to 4pm Wednesday to Sunday (some studios may also be open on Mondays and/or Tuesdays).
