Receive support and advice with the District Council’s new Business Support Hub

Posted on: Tuesday, August 22, 2023

Business owners and managers across Newark and Sherwood can now have confidential one-to-one conversations about the support available to help them thrive through the District Council’s new Business Support Hub.

Members of the Economic Growth team will be available for informal discussions every Tuesday from 5 September, 11am – 1pm at Inspire Buttermarket. They’ll be able to offer advice, answer any questions and point businesses in the right direction to receive specialist support, access grant schemes, utilise training opportunities and much more.

The Hub will have access to a private room, meaning conversations are entirely confidential. There is no need to book an appointment; simply turn up on the day. The Hub will be on a pilot scheme for six months with the option to extend.

In addition to the Business Support Hub, the Economic Growth team can be contacted for advice and support, by emailing economic.growth@newark-sherwooddc.gov.uk or by calling 01636 650000 and asking for a member of the team, Monday to Friday between the hours of 9am and 5pm.

Councillor Matthew Spoors, Portfolio Holder for Sustainable Economic Development at Newark and Sherwood District Council, said: “Our Economic Growth team have a wealth of knowledge that businesses can utilise to take them to the next step and flourish. This includes how to start your own business, grant schemes you can apply for, training opportunities for you and your staff, advice on expanding into new premises, and much more!

“If you’re looking for some advice for your business or want to chat through something with a member of the team, please pop along to the Buttermarket every Tuesday starting from 5 September and speak to us – we are here to help!”

In addition, businesses are invited to the District Council’s Elevate Your Workforce event at Inspire Buttermarket on Friday, 15 September. Organised in partnership with Inspire: Culture, Learning and Libraries, business owners and managers can hear about exciting free courses and training opportunities available to their staff to help boost their business.
