Apprentices working for the council are fully-fledged members of their teams, carrying out a wide variety of jobs in the busy world of local government.
Apprenticeship opportunities with us provide you with an excellent opportunity to learn work-based skills and gain an NVQ qualification.
Business units where we have previously had apprenticeship opportunities include:
Active4Today leisure centres
External marketing and communications
Parks and amenities
Revenues and benefits
Apprenticeship placements usually last for a temporary period of 12 months during which time you will benefit from training in your job role and develop a greater understanding of the council and the services we offer.
Unfortunately we are unable to guarantee a permanent role at the end of the 12 months, but apprentices are encouraged to apply for any suitable vacancies that do arise during their time with us.
To view a vacancy you will be re-directed to the Jobs go public site where you can complete an online application form, download an application form in pdf format or request an application pack.
Whether it’s dealing with customers at our offices at Kelham Hall or maintaining the variety of species of trees in our country parks our apprentices get the opportunity to learn about the diverse world of local government first hand.
Take a look at our success stories to find out how our scheme has benefitted some of our current and previous apprentices.
