District Council launches consultation to assess taxi satisfaction among users and drivers
Posted on: Monday, October 18, 2021Newark and Sherwood District Council has launched a taxi satisfaction consultation to assess both customers and drivers' opinions on Newark and Sherwood's taxi and private vehicle hire service.
The consultation, which consists of two surveys – one for customers and one for drivers – aims to answer several important questions, including why the public uses taxies and private hire vehicles, how they use them and how satisfied they are with the service they receive. Importantly, the consultation will also determine if customers have experienced difficulty getting a taxi, feel the fees are reasonable and feel safe using a Newark and Sherwood District Council taxi.
The survey aimed at drivers will gather information on when they are working, how they operate and from which ranks.
A report of the findings of the consultation will be presented at a future General Purpose's Committee.
Councillor Rita Crowe, Chairman of Newark and Sherwood District Council’s Licensing Committee, said: "It is essential that Newark and Sherwood District Council continually improve the services which we provide to the public. Therefore, we would like to gather important feedback from our residents that will enable us to identify any areas that we can assess to improve our taxi and public vehicle hire service.
"I recommend any of our taxi and private vehicle hire drivers and any residents who have used this service to have their say and complete our consultation."
The consultation will close on Tuesday 30 November at 5 pm. Both surveys consist of approximately 30 questions and will take 10 minutes to complete.
