Serious Violence Response Planning
The Police, Crime, Sentencing and Courts (PCSC) Act 2022 provides new duties in respect to Serious Violence. The Serious Violence Duty requires councils and local services work together to share information and target interventions to prevent and reduce serious violence, including identifying the kinds of serious violence that occur in the area, the causes of that violence, and to prepare and implement a strategy for preventing and reducing serious violence in the area.
The Serious Violence Duty Local Response Plan (PDF File, 397kb) detailing how the Duty funding will be implemented, through the Bassetlaw and Newark and Sherwood Community Safety Partnership, was submitted to the Home Office in January 2024.
