Neighbourhood Plan Referendums 2019

The Epperstone and Fiskerton-cum-Morton Neighbourhood Plan Referendums will be held on Thursday 12 December 2019. Polling stations will be open from 7am until 10pm.

You can only vote if your name is on the Register of Electors.

Registering to vote

You can only vote if your name is on the Register of Electors.

The current register was last published on 1 December 2019. If you are not registered to vote, have moved address, changed your name or nationality, you can apply to register online.

Applications should be made by Tuesday 26 November 2019 to register for these referendums. If you cannot register online, please contact us. If you are already registered correctly, you do not need to register again for these referendums.

Postal and Proxy Voting

Postal voting

If you would like to vote by post, you will need to complete a postal vote application form (PDF File, 235kb). This application form should be completed and returned to us by 5pm on Wednesday 27 November 2019 if it is to be effective for these referendums. If you are granted a postal vote, you will not be able to vote in person at these referendums. This form must not be completed with an electronic signature. You can complete and return this form to the address shown on the form or scan the completed form and email to: voting@newark-sherwooddc.gov.uk. If you cannot print this form please contact us.

Postal ballot papers should be delivered by the following dates: -

•Wednesday 27 November 2019 if we receive the completed application by Monday 18 November 2019.

•Wednesday 4 December 2019 if we receive the completed application by 5pm on Tuesday 26 November 2019.

If you are away around these dates, we may be able to send your postal vote to a different address. You should contact us to see if this is possible. Alternatively, you could appoint a proxy who could vote on your behalf.

Proxy voting

If you would like to appoint a proxy to vote on your behalf, you will need to complete a proxy vote application form (PDF File, 469kb). This application form should be completed and returned to us by 5pm on Wednesday 4 December 2019 if it is to be effective for these referendums. If you appoint a proxy to vote in person for you, you can still vote yourself, but ONLY if your proxy has not already voted on your behalf. This form must not be completed with an electronic signature. You can complete and return this form to the address shown on the form or scan the completed form and email to: voting@newark-sherwooddc.gov.uk. If you cannot print this form please contact us.

Notice of Referendum

Notice of Poll (includes polling places)

The Notice of Poll & Polling Place for Epperstone (PDF File, 433kb) and Notice of Poll & Polling Places for Fiskerton-cum- Morton (PDF File, 437kb)will be published, no later than Wednesday 4 December 2019. This notice gives details of the Referendum and the polling place to be used.

Counting of the votes

Firstly, the ballot boxes will be verified to ensure that the number of ballot papers in each box is the number that has been issued. Postal ballot papers that are to be included in the count will also be verified. Once all votes are verified, the ballot papers will be sorted and counted.

The verification of the ballot boxes and counting of the votes will take place at Newark Sports and Fitness Centre, Bowbridge Road, Newark, NG24 4DH, following the close of poll on Thursday 12 December 2019.

The Declaration of Result of Referendum will be published as soon as possible following the count.
