The Flying Objects Scheme is a new and alternative way for the community to see some of the 70,000+ objects that are held at our Resource Centre. We have eight cases that can be borrowed for use in schools, institutions, businesses and community spaces throughout the Newark and Sherwood District.
Mystery Object Bonanza at the Beacon Centre and Staythorpe Power Station
The newly revamped flying object cases at both of these sites are filled with mystery objects, from our reserve collection.
Quiz sheets are available for staff and visitors to have fun trying to identify the objects on display.
Winners’ and their partners / friends / families (maximum 12 people) will be invited to the Resource Centre for a free guided tour.
Would you like a flying objects case at your venue?
The Flying Objects cases are available on a six-month loan and are completely free. The objects are transported to the hosting venue and displayed by museum staff.
Cases are approximately 50cm square 146cm high with a display area measuring 50cm square 60cm high and can house one large object or several small ones.
If you are interested in Flying Objects for your shop, cafe, school, office or community venue please contact Glyn Hughes on 01636 655744 or email museums@nsdc.info
