Frequently Asked Questions
Q. Is my home in the improvement area?
A. The improvement area covers the area known as Yorke Drive Estate and the Lincoln Road Playing fields. The streets include Yorke Drive, Beaumont Walk, Stukeley Court, Fenton Close, Lincoln Court, Rosewood Close and 2 to 48 Strawberry Hill.
Q. Will the regeneration go ahead this time?
A. We are committed to regenerating the Yorke Drive estate and Lincoln Road Playing fields. The council has received nearly £1 million of Estate Regeneration Programme funding to carry out an appraisal and master planning process. We will be pursuing additional Government funding to enable the improvements to happen.
Q. Will there be any demolition?
A. At this stage, it is not known if there will be any demolition on the estate. Although, this could be considered as part of the master-planning stage.
Q. Will I be consulted?
A. The homes surveyed will include council tenants, tenants of PA Housing (formerly ASRA HA) and Nottingham Community Housing, as well as tenants and owners of privately owned properties. Queries may also be expected from interested residents in adjoining areas.
Q. Why should I fill the survey in?
A. It will help us to understand residents’ needs and priorities. This information will help inform the masterplanning and the regeneration proposals. Everyone who completes the survey will be entered into a prize draw for shopping vouchers.
Q. What will you do with the information from the survey?
A. The information you provide will be confidential and will only be used to help us shape the regeneration work. No information will be passed on to third parties.
Q. Do I have to give you my name and address?
A. By providing your name and address, it will help know who has responded so you will not be chased unnecessarily. It will help us involve residents in the consultation process and understand individual needs better.
Q. Are there translation available of the survey and newsletter?
A. If you need the documents to be translated, a language speaker can be provided to explain the content of the document. If we cannot provide a translator, it may be possible to involve another family member or member of the community that can help.
Q. How will I be kept informed?
A. Residents will receive regular newsletters, and will be able to access information on our website.
There is also a Facebook page and you can follow us at @YorkeDriveFocus on Twitter.
If you would prefer to be kept informed by email, please let us have your details and we will send you copies of newsletters and other key documents.
