Baby Loss Awareness Week
Baby Loss Awareness Week is an opportunity for bereaved parents, and their families and friends to unite with others across the world to commemorate their babies’ lives.
The campaign also aims to raise awareness about pregnancy and baby loss in the UK.
Lighting up Newark Castle
We will be illuminating Newark Castle in pink and blue in support for Baby Loss Awareness Week 2019.
We hope lighting up the castle will spark conversations about baby loss and give local bereaved parents and families an opportunity to talk about their feelings.
Memory Tree in the Buttermarket
In support of the annual awareness week we are organising a memory tree to be available in Newark Buttermarket. Labels with pink and blue ribbons will be available for people to write a short message, before they tie the ribbon to the tree.
Support information will be available from the Miscarriage Association.
The tree will be available from 11am on Friday 11 October. There will be a small gathering to mark the launch of the memory tree for anyone affected by baby loss or for anyone wishing to show their support.
The Turquoise Tea Pot Cafe is kindly donating a cake and tea and coffee will be available to anyone wishing to stay a while and chat. Thank you to the Sure Mind Foundation for providing tea and coffee.
