COVID-19: Waste and recycling collection update

Household waste (black/green bin) and recycling (silver bin) collections are running as normal. However, as we have had to change the vehicle routes, we cannot guarantee that your bin will be emptied at its usual time. Please double-bag any tissues or similar items that might carry contamination.

Garden recycling (brown bin) collections will resume on Monday 1 June.

Additional side waste will NOT be collected.

Land Charges

Our highly skilled team continue to operate our search service.

Regarding personal searches, as our offices are temporarily closed to the public until further notice, further information on how to request an Official LLC1 search or information under Environmental Information Regulations (EIR) is available our website.

Car parks

All car parks managed by Newark & Sherwood District Council are now free of charge. We hope this assists key works and residents needing to undertake essential errands. This is a small gesture of thanks, recognising the overwhelming public support for those continuing to go above and beyond in their efforts to reduce the spread and impact of Covid-19. People should continue to follow Government advice and only travel for essential work, shop for necessities or to pick up medicines.

Building Control

Building Control (which is provided via a shared service) will now only visit sites involving dangerous structures or other extreme situations and all other site inspections have been suspended. A team of surveyors and administration staff remain available for any enquires and new applications.
