An important part of growing any business is the ability to clearly and effectively pitch your business plan to investors and potential partners
This workshop will give you the following
- Hot tips for achieving business growth
- Understanding the type of funding your business needs
- How to access Investment Funds
- How to prepare a convincing case
The day will lead to an understanding of how your business might be able to access funding, access opportunities and raise your profile
This free workshop is being held on Wednesday 27 March 2019 at Edwinstowe House, Edwinstowe, Mansfield, NG21 9PR

D2N2 Growth Hub
D2N2 Growth Hub in partnership with Newark and Sherwood District Council are offering a business health check session to be held 5 March 2019.
- Do you have a desire to grow your business and are looking for guidance and support?
- Do you require access to finance to expand, guidance on the latest legislation on practical business support?
In this one-to-one 90 minute session, a D2N2 Growth Business Advisor will provide you with valuable advice and insight to help your business flourish. Plus, you will be given the opportunity to pose questions, get practical tips and obtain incisive information.
The free business health check session will be held at Newark and Sherwood District Council, Castle House, Great North Road, Newark, NG24 1BY.

Starting in Business Programme
From bookkeepers and beauticians to cupcake bakers and care agencies, whatever business you dream of starting NBV can help you transform your idea to a business and support you with a fantastic package of training and funding.
The course, open to pre-start businesses, provides everything you need to know to get your small business up and running. The course is aimed at people who would benefit from in-depth knowledge on how to become self-employed or start their own small business. Over two weeks you will learn all of the skills that you'll need to start and manage a successful small business.

Growing Places Fund
Round four of the Growing Places Fund is now open offering loans between £250,000 and £2million to individual companies or organisations to finance capital (building and infrastructure) investment, resulting in business growth and job creation.
Funded projects must be located within D2N2 LEP’s area, covered by the administrative boundaries of Derby City, Derbyshire County, Nottingham City and Nottinghamshire County local authorities.
Funding is limited and preference will be given to projects which deliver on the LEP’s strategic priorities and key areas of economic focus. More information on these is available on the D2N2 Website and in its Strategic Economic Plan.

There is no cut off date by which applications must be received, at this time, though applicants are encouraged to submit applications as soon as possible.

Pioneer 10 is a new and free business awards and growth programme which is open to start-ups and ambitious SMEs across Nottinghamshire. It offers free business training workshops along with the opportunity to win a package of support up to the value of £25,000
Pioneer 10 offer a series of workshops that are free to attend for start-up and growth businesses across Nottinghamshire. The events will take place at the three Nottinghamshire Innovation Centres– Mansfield i-Centre, Newark Beacon and Worksop Turbine which are managed by Oxford Innovation
Delegates will be encouraged to use the knowledge gained from the workshops to submit their business idea for the Pioneer10 awards programme.
Ten start-up or growth businesses will be selected to receive one to one coaching and guidance from our experienced business experts. This stage will open up a world of new possibilities for business owners and significantly increase their chances of success.
The panel of judges, taken from business leaders across Nottinghamshire will then select two of these Pioneers to receive high value / high impact business support packages worth up to £25,000 leveraging the resources of Oxford Innovation and their partners

Business Assist Programme
If you're a trading business you can receive expert, impartial business advice from advisers you can trust. Running your own business can be a lonely occupation. What could improve this?
How about the advice of an impartial, experienced business person? Someone to act as a sounding board, providing focussed and objective assistance. If you think you could benefit from a fresh perspective the NBV Business Assist programme could be just what you need.
Grant in Enterprise
As an existing business you could access up to £2,500 of funding to help your business. NBV have directly supported local businesses to access over £2m in grant funding over the past 3 years and they are now offering businesses in Newark and Sherwood the Grant for Enterprise.
Eligible businesses can claim up to £2,500 for specific projects or investments. In order to be eligible you must:
- Fit the criteria of Small and Medium Sized Business (SME)
- Have commenced trading
- Only trade business to business, not retail or business to consumer.
