George Hemstock, Park Ranger
Apprentice Park Ranger George Hemstock was successful in being awarded the Newark Rotary Club Apprentice of the Year Award for 2013.
In addition George’s course work was recognised by City & Guilds as an outstanding example and he was awarded an international gold medal award. He has since been appointed to the permanent role of Sconce & Devon Park Ranger.
Luke Wynne-Higgins, Mechanic
Luke has recently been appointed an HGV Mechanic after joining us as an apprentice mechanic in 2013.
He is due to complete his qualification this September and has been successful in being appointed to the post of Mechanic.
Business Admin Apprentice, Holly Day. Was successful in being appointed to the post of Benefits Assistant within 3 months of starting her apprenticeship. She has since been promoted further to the role of Benefits Officer.
Liberty O’ Neill
6 months after starting her Business Administration apprenticeship in HR, Liberty was successful in gaining a permanent role as a HR Administrator. She is now looking forward to starting her Level 3, advanced apprenticeship in HR and gaining her CIPD Certificate in Human Resource Practice.
Olivia Davis and Alex Oxberry
Olivia and Alex started out on Level 2 apprenticeships in External Communications and ICT Helpdesk respectively. Both proved to be excellent in their roles and were offered the opportunity to progress to Level 3, advanced apprenticeships allowing them to gain further qualifications and to continue as vital members of their teams.
After initially completing a Level 2 Business Administration apprenticeship within Financial Services, it became clear that Chloe was keen to develop her finance skills and she is now undertaking a Level 3 AAT qualification. Whilst doing this, she also successfully interviewed for and was appointed to the permanent role of Financial Services Assistant.
Byron joined NSDC as a Waste Management Apprentice in August 2017 and is almost at the end of his Level 2 qualification. Despite not yet having completed his apprenticeship, he was appointed to the permanent role of Waste Management Operative early this year and has proven to be a great addition to the Waste, Litter and Recycling Business Unit.
After completing her Level 2 and 3 Business Administration apprenticeships in Planning Policy, Harriet secured a permanent post using the skills she had gained. She now supports both Planning Policy and Strategic Housing in her role as Strategic Housing and Planning Support Officer.
Kirsty joined NSDC as a Level 3 Business Administration apprentice working in the Heritage, Culture and Visitors Business Unit at the busy Palace Theatre / National Civil War Centre. Her role focussed on marketing and, since completing her apprenticeship, she has secured the permanent role of Marketing Assistant at the same location.
Less than 6 months after starting a Level 3 apprenticeship in Public Service, Anna was successful in gaining a permanent role as a Licensing Support Officer and will complete her apprenticeship whist in this post.
