Neighbourhood Plan Referendums 28 September 2017
The Farnsfield and Fernwood Neighbourhood Plan Referendums will take place on Thursday 28 September 2017. Polling stations will be open from 7am until 10pm.

You can only vote if your name is on the Register of Electors.
The Register of Electors
The current register was last updated on the 1 September 2017, from responses to the household enquiry forms sent out to all properties from August 2017 and completed individual registrations. If you are not registered to vote, have moved address or changed your name, you can apply to register online (link to www.gov.uk/register-to-vote). If you cannot register online, please contact us for an application form. Your application must be received by Tuesday 12 September 2017 to register for these referendums.
Postal and Proxy Voting
If you would like to vote by post, you will need to complete a postal vote application form (PDF File, 234kb). Your application must be received before 5pm on Wednesday 13 September 2017 if it is to be effective for these referendums. If you are granted a postal vote, you will NOT be able to vote in person at this election. This form must not be completed with an electronic signature. Postal ballot papers should be delivered by Tuesday 19 September 2017 if we receive the completed application by 5pm on Wednesday 13 September 2017. If you are away around this date, we may be able to send your postal vote to a different address. You should contact us to see if this is possible. Alternatively, you could appoint a proxy who could vote on your behalf.
If you would like to appoint a proxy which is someone to vote on your behalf, you will need to complete a proxy vote application form (PDF File, 235kb). Your application must be received before 5pm on Wednesday 20 September 2017 if it is to be effective for these referendums. If you have appointed a proxy to vote in person for you, you can still vote yourself, but ONLY if your proxy has not already voted on your behalf. Appointing an emergency proxy
If you have become unable to vote in person since the deadline to apply to appoint a proxy on Wednesday 20 September 2017 because of either Illness (PDF File, 75kb) or due to Employment (PDF File, 67kb), you can apply for an emergency proxy. Your application must be received by 5pm on polling day if it is to be effective for these referendums. This form must not be completed with an electronic signature. Notice of Referendums
The Notice of Referendum publicises the referendums.
Notice of Poll (includes polling places)
The Notice of Poll will be published, no later than Wednesday 20 September 2017. This notice gives details of the Referendums and the polling places to be used.
Counting of the votes
Firstly, the ballot boxes will be verified to ensure that the number of ballot papers in each box is the number that has been issued. Postal ballot papers that are to be included in the count will also be verified. Once all votes are verified, the ballot papers will be sorted and counted.
The verification of the ballot boxes and counting of the votes will take place at Farnsfield Village Centre, New Hill, Farnsfield, NG22 8JN and Fernwood Village Hall, Rubys Avenue, Newark, NG24 3RS, following the close of poll on Thursday 28 September 2017.
The Declaration of Result of Referendums will be published as soon as possible following the counts.
