Over the last five years there have been more than 2000 casualties involved in accidents in Nottinghamshire where one of the vehicles involved was speeding or driving too fast for the road conditions. 67 of these were fatalities, highlighting the grave consequences speeding can have.
Around half of all the casualties were aged between 17 and 29, making this group a key focus for the campaign, although speeding isn't a problem limited to this age group, and all motorists are being encouraged to slow down.
Slowing down by just a few miles per hour can mean the difference between life and death.
The faster the vehicle you’re travelling in is going, the less time there is to stop if something unexpected happens.
