Wind Energy SPD
The Wind Energy Supplementary Planning Document (SPD) describes the approach that the District Council intends to take to wind energy development within the District. The SPD shows how planning applications will be considered including the pre- and post-application stages and provides detailed guidance on how proposals to develop wind energy schemes will be assessed in this District.
As an SPD the document provides further guidance on policies within the District Council’s adopted Core Strategy and Allocations and Development Management DPDs but does not develop new ones. Following consultation on the draft document the finalised SPD was adopted on the 26th March 2014 and as part of the Local Development Framework will be a material consideration in the determination of planning applications. Landscape Capacity Study
To support the Wind Energy SPD a Landscape Capacity Study has been carried out to examine the sensitivity and capacity of the District's landscape to wind turbine development at a range of scales.
Consultation on the study was carried out alongside the SPD and a finalised version taking account of the comments received is available to view below.
