Athletics

Athletics is a fun exciting sport with a variety of different track and field events to get involved in, including javelin, long jump, high jump, sprinting and distance running.

Whether you are a beginner or would like to become the next gold medal winner at the Olympics, Newark and Sherwood District Council's Sports Development team offers a number of opportunities for both adults and young people to get involved in athletics.

If you are a school or club and are interested in running athletics sessions but are not sure how to deliver them, we can offer After School Clubs that will be run by qualified coaches.

The national governing body for athletics is UK athletics. Visit their website to find out more information on national events, competitions and coaching opportunities.
