The Woodland Trust's Nature Detectives website offers lots of ideas for pulling on your trainers, rolling up your sleeves and getting outside. You can have fun with boredom-busting autumn holiday activities, find out about nature's signs of autumn, make the most of local woods, look for animal tracks, explore, smell and splash around your local park.

Expect Halloween tales of scary deeds on the ghostliest weekend of the year. Keep your eyes open for ghouls, witches and hags as you hear tales of the creatures that live in the shadows.

Join us for a lantern walk and storytelling performances as Lord George and Lady Esmerelda reveal the dark secrets of All Hallows Eve.

S‌hark in the Park

Timothy Pope is looking through his telescope –but wait, is that a Shark, in the Park?! From the creative team behind ‘The Hairy Maclary show’ - see Nick Sharratt’s beloved ‘Shark in the Park’ books brought to life on stage!

Featuring all 3 of the ‘Shark in the Park’ Series – Shark in the Park, Shark in the Dark and Sharkin the Park on a Windy Day – this fin-tastic, family musical follows Timothy Pope (and his telescope!) on 3 exciting adventures…

Kids Autumn Crafts at Sherwood Forest Arts and Craft Centre, Edwinstowe

For October half term kids crafts are on Wed 25 October 10.30am to 3pm

Enjoy seasonal painting, jewellery, sewing, making bath bombs, paper crafts and more.
There is a small charge for the activities. Café available for snacks and drinks

Adult workshops and classes including jewellery making and felting are also available all year round.

A Beauty of a Panto...A Beast of a Show! Come and join us for a beauty of a pantomime this festive season. With last year's production being described as "one of the best pantomimes I have seen at the Palace" (Newark Advertiser), the Palace Theatre is planning another spectacular show this year with the magical tale of Beauty and the Beast.

Once again the show will have all the ingredients for a perfect family panto with spectacular set and costumes, fabulous songs and dances, bags of slapstick fun and starring Jonathan Wrather (Emmerdale's Pierce Harris)!

So book your tickets now for a fun filled panto, and to discover if Beauty can see beyond appearances and learn to love a Beast!
