Employment Growth Opportunities

Newark Growth Point – Land South of Newark

In 2009 Newark became a Growth Point. Since then the district council has been preparing a framework for new investment and growth. It has established a new planning policy agenda setting out its strategy for new housing and employment as well as the delivery of new infrastructure to support the anticipated development.

Key Growth Elements:

  • 14,000 new houses in the district up to 2026
  • 150Ha of employment land in the Newark urban area
  • 3 strategic sites in the Newark urban area providing 7,000 new homes and 250,000 sqm of new employment floorspace
  • Completion of the A46 A1/M1 link
  • A new southern link road
  • High speed rail links to London

Fernwood Business Park, Newark

Fernwood Business Park is strategically located next to the A1 and its junction with the B6326, approximately two miles south of Newark town centre.

The 104.5 acre site has a main road (A1) frontage and is opposite a new housing development. The first phase of the development consists of 38 acres with existing B1 planning consent for light industry, research or office accommodation.

Strawsons Property is offering design and build options on a freehold and leasehold basis and opportunities are available to purchase land on a freehold basis.

GPark Newark

Gazeley owned site, GPark Newark is a 38.7 acre site on the A1. The site offers great flexibility with design and build options available from 9,290 m² (100,000 sq ft) to in excess of 69,677 m² (750,000 sq ft).

The benefits of the site include accessibility to the A1, north (2.5 miles) and southbound (2.1 miles), labour costs that are cheaper than comparable M1 locations, nearly 30% (16.8 million people) of the GB population is accessible within a 3 hour HGV drive time.

Potterdyke Redevelopment

Newark town centre has recently benefited from a £50m investment in the redevelopment of the Potterdyke site. This is the town’s biggest redevelopment in 20 years.

The new scheme is a comprehensive mixed-use development which includes an Asda supermarket, 13 retail units along with a new pedestrian shopping street, a new Doctors’ Surgery, 14 houses and a new bus station.
