Housing Options at Newark and Sherwood District Council
The council's Housing Options team offers a free impartial and confidential housing advice service to anyone living within the district. Our aim is to prevent homelessness wherever possible by providing innovative solutions to housing problems.
We can provide advice for anyone: who owns their own home; renting; sharing; or living in a council or housing association property. We also provide guidance on a wide range of options available to anyone struggling to cope as a result of recession.
Citizens' Advice – free, independent and confidential advice covering mortgage arrears, rent arrears, debt advice and repossession.
GOV.UK – information on how to keep your home including advice on mortgage and rent difficulties.
Shelter – Shelter provides advice, assistance and advocacy on all housing problems varying from rent arrears, mortgage arrears, landlord and tenant problems, disrepair issues and housing benefit.

Single person accommodation
Newark Foyer (Lombard Street, Newark) - we offer supported housing for young people aged 16-25 years old in the Newark and Sherwood area.
Framework, Russell House - Russell House provides accommodation and support for 15 single homeless people. Priority is given to applicants with a local connection.
